Assembler

Local Manufacturing Company is seeking an individual to assist in hand assembling electrical harnesses and panels.  Candidate must have attention to detail throughout the assembly process and uphold high quality assurance methods.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to perform repetitive work
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed procedures
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read wiring schematics and blueprints
  • Previous hand assembly experience preferred
  • Understanding of electrical concepts, a plus

Compensation:

  • This position is a full-time, hourly position.
  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
  • Overtime and weekends on an as needed basis

Supply Chain Supervisor

The individual in this position will successfully provide leadership, planning, and direction for all materials-planning, purchasing, and inventory-management functions. This individual will serve as the direct supervisor for all materials department personnel. Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, this individual will work closely with MIS, Production, and Sales departments to continually reduce the cost of building Hewescraft-brand products while maintaining a high level of quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership/Supervision

  • Establish and maintain relationships with all other department Managers, Supervisors, and Leads.
  • Guarantee the needed materials and support of Production department and other internal customers, including the identification and correction of any system weaknesses and failures.
  • In collaboration with MIS and Engineering departments, modify and improve MRP system policies, systems, processes, and data.
  • Train and supervise all Materials Department personnel.
  • Ensure all workplace health and safety requirements are met.

Materials and Supply Acquisition and delivery

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Suppliers
  • Continually refine supplier base to ensure best cost of goods and services contracted for the production of Hewescraft boats- including raw material cost goals.
  • Regularly monitor, evaluate, and report on supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing/Sales departments to achieve desired finished product and quality and cost goals.
  • Control policies and procedures in the areas of purchasing, receiving, inventory control, storage, and distribution of all materials, equipment and supplies to production departments.

Warehousing and Inventory

  • Control policies and procedures in the areas of purchasing, receiving, inventory control, storage, and distribution of all materials, equipment and supplies to production departments.
  • Control appropriate systems and processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
  • Manage all inventory functions to ensure the accuracy of both physical and electronic inventory counts.
  • Improve and appropriately simplify inventory management and distribution processes.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely delivery of goods to/from the materials warehouse.

Education

  • BS or BA in Business, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experiences in sourcing, purchasing, materials planning, and inventory management disciplines – preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in supervisory roles
  • Experience in establishment, operations, and maintenance of MRP Software processes and data bases
  • Experience negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with MACOLA-ES software preferred
  • Ability (and desire) to solve problems collaboratively
  • Excellent team-building skills
  • High regard for safety, and excellent attention to detail

Skills/Abilities

  • Able to effectively deal with both internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner
  • Proficient in the Use of Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in the use of Macola MRP software
  • Self-directed with excellent time-management, organization, negotiation, and team-building skills.

Experienced Painter Position

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Painter. This position will support the paint department.  It is fast paced and requires someone that is production oriented.  This position is hourly and will report to the Production Supervisor’s team.

  • Applying primer and finish coats using spray equipment

Welding/Fabrication

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking a welder with proven skills in metal fabrication that include Aluminum, MIG & TIG welding. This position is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacturing products from engineered drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Position Requirements:
Desire experience in aluminum welding
Proficient in assigned welding techniques
Interpretation of mechanical drawings and sketches, including weld symbols
Working knowledge of fixturing
Working knowledge of set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Conventional and precision measuring instruments
Welding equipment maintenance
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
Safety and Housekeeping
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of an internal welding test
