Supervisor – Warranty/Customer Service

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. (HMC), the maker of Hewescraft boats, is seeking a Warranty/Customer Service Supervisor who will (under supervision of the Director of Marketing/Sales) manage HMC’s warranty and customer service efforts; collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Materials departments to guide continuous improvement of Hewescraft boats consistent with established company standards, government regulations, and customer expectations; direct day-to-day warranty claims processing; and provide leadership to customer service staff.

The Warranty/Customer Service Supervisor’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Serve as the primary contact for dealer warranty and customer service inquiries.
  • Resolve dealer warranty claims, including credits and repair authorizations, in a reasonably short time.
  • Analyze and process warranty claims according to HMC warranty policies.
  • Evaluate existing warranty policies and develop updates and improvements as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation of all warranty claims.
  • Generate warranty reports that assist Marketing/Sales and Engineering departments in choosing product-improvement projects.
  • Interface professionally and effectively with dealer personnel and approved third-party repair shops to resolve warranty claims, questions, and repairs in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain customer and dealer satisfaction with regard to warranty concerns through carefully considered warranty claim adjudication.
  • Track warranty costs, keep costs within established budget parameters, and reduce warranty waste.
  • Ensure and monitor warranty policy compliance by dealers during the documentation, submission, approval, and completion of claims.
  • Take an active role and proactive approach in identifying areas in which quality can be improved and warranty claims reduced.
  • Set and communicate department expectations to staff, hold staff accountable to these expectations, and lead by example.
  • Accept accountability for warranty and customer service department performance.
  • Oversee and upgrade HMC’s program for sales of mail-out parts/accessories.
  • Support the Director of Marketing/Sales on additional projects as assigned.

 

The following education, experience, and skills are required to be considered for the Warranty/Customer Service Supervisor position:

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • Minimum five years of customer service experience
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in warranty claims processing or related positions
  • Able to effectively deal with both internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner
  • Experience in the marine/boating industry preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Self-directed with excellent time-management skills
  • Able to multi-task in an environment of shifting priorities

Welding/Fabrication

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking a welder with proven skills in metal fabrication that include Aluminum, MIG & TIG welding. This position is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacturing products from engineered drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Position Requirements:
Desire experience in aluminum welding
Proficient in assigned welding techniques
Interpretation of mechanical drawings and sketches, including weld symbols
Working knowledge of fixturing
Working knowledge of set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Conventional and precision measuring instruments
Welding equipment maintenance
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
Safety and Housekeeping
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of an internal welding test

 

Compensation:

This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company.
Work schedule Monday – Friday
Overtime and weekends on an as needed basis

Machine Operator I Position

Hewes Marine Company is seeking an experienced machine operator to work within our metal fabrication department. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisors.

Position Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work well in a team environment
  • Read and understand blue prints
  • Lift on a regular basis up to 40 lbs.
  • Attention to detail
  • High regard for safety
  • Must be self-motivated

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with press brake operation, plasma Cutting Machine, shear, punch press, all types of saws & metal fabrication
  • 2 years – manufacturing experience
  • 1-year minimum experience in press break operation

  • Work schedule Monday – Friday
