Shipping I

Hewes Marine Company Inc. is seeking a full-time, Shipping I laborer to work in our growing boat manufacturing company in Colville, WA.  This position performs shipping and loading functions and operates material handling equipment such as forklift and overhead crane.  This position reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Shipping preparation and loading of boats and other marine products
  • Warehouse/worksite and equipment cleaning and organization
  • Completion of assigned tasks individually and as part of the Shipping/Loading team
  • Achievement of all safety, quality, and productivity goals as set by department Lead and/or Supervisor

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Successful completion of forklift operation certification within 14 days of hire
  • Hand and pneumatic tool experience
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. with no restrictions

Compensation:

  • Full-time, hourly position
  • Work schedule Monday–Friday
  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • Starting wage for this position is $14.50 per hour

Class-A CDL Driver

D&B Transport, a trucking company located in scenic Colville, Washington, is seeking a full-time commercially licensed driver to ship boats for Hewes Marine Company, the maker of Hewescraft boats.  Key responsibilities of this position are the safe operation of trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds GVWR while delivering boats over intercity and interstate routes.

This Driver position’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Load, transport, deliver, and unload boats, motors, and trailers with safety as the highest priority.
  • Drive long distances within the Pacific Northwest US, and Central/Western Canada.
  • Serve as a brand advocate and customer service representative in interactions with clients and public.
  • Inspect vehicles and trailers before and after trips and log any defects or safety concerns.
  • Manage driving routes and delivery routines so they proceed efficiently and safely.
  • Complete ELD logs, vehicle inspection/maintenance reports, and other trip reports as required.
  • Comply with all DOT and company rules and regulations.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor.

 

The following education, experience, and skills are required to be considered for this Driver position:

  • High regard for safety
  • Washington State driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Class-A CDL
  • Current DOT medical endorsement
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2+ years commercial driving experience
  • Ability to sit/drive for prolonged periods of time

This Class-A CDL Driver position is a full-time, Monday–Friday, hourly position.  Although some overtime and weekend work may be required, most delivery routes are less than four days round-trip with most weekends off.  D&B Transport covers all meals and lodging expenses while on the road.  The hourly wage range for this position depends on experience.  D&B Transport offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid vacation and profit-sharing programs.

Parts Department Lead

Hewes Marine Company is looking for a motivated individual to lead production activities in our metal fabrication department. This individual will directly oversee a small crew of machine operators and assist in normal production activities as needed. This individual will also coordinate with Production Supervisors on several initiatives including scheduling, the creation, adaptation, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

 

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisors.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Interface professionally and effectively with other department leads and supervisors
  • Maintain a positive, fast paced, and production minded environment
  • Must be self-motivated and be proactive in identifying and resolving issues
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and provide appropriate feedback to Supervisors
  • Proactively learn new skills and train team members on the use of machines and following the manufacturing flow and schedule
  • Coordinate with our Engineering Team regarding tooling, CNC program changes, and troubleshooting
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • High regard for safety
  • Attention to detail and quality of work

 

The following education, experience, and skills are required to be considered for the position:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with brake press operation, plasma Cutting Machine, shear, punch press, all types of saws & metal fabrication
  • 2 years – manufacturing experience
  • 1-year experience in brake press operation desired
  • 1-year of leadership experience desired
  • Special consideration for any computer experience related to manufacturing systems and Microsoft Word and Excel

MIS Supervisor

Hewes Marine is looking for an individual to manage the day-to-day activities and personnel within the Management Information System (MIS) department.

Hewes Marine is the leader in the design and manufacturing of aluminum fishing boats within the Pacific Northwest. The factory is located in the beautiful Inland Northwest and centrally located among some of the most scenic areas in the Northwest, providing endless opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.

Position Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee leadership and supervision of MIS team
  • Oversee product data management functions for the company ERP system
  • Oversee IT and system support for all company departments
  • Creation and maintenance of company documentation control systems
  • Work with software vendors and other technical support vendors
  • Participate as a member of the company leadership team with other supervisors and managers
  • Participate in departmental HR functions, including training, hiring, and disciplinary actions

Education/Experience:

  • BS Degree in computer related field (Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics OR equivalent)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience within an IT or MIS support function
  • Experience in providing MIS support, including:
    • Software – Macola, SolidWorks PDM, Microsoft SQL, Crystal Reports
    • Administration – ERP functions, including Bills of Materials and corporate reporting, database administration, documentation control systems, software development
  • Experience in providing IT technical support or management of technical support, including:
    • Hardware – Cisco Meraki managed networks
    • Software – MS Server 2016, 365 services, Sage HRMS, Sigmanest, SolidWorks, and Macola
    • Certifications – CompTIA A+, N+, MCP, or CCNA is a plus
  • Must have strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Supervisory experience is strongly desire, with a lead-by-example management philosophy with an emphasis placed on earned respect and employee training

Welding/Fabrication

Hewes Marine Company, Inc. is seeking a welder with proven skills in metal fabrication that include Aluminum, MIG & TIG welding. This position is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacturing products from engineered drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Position Requirements:
Desire experience in aluminum welding
Proficient in assigned welding techniques
Interpretation of mechanical drawings and sketches, including weld symbols
Working knowledge of fixturing
Working knowledge of set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Conventional and precision measuring instruments
Welding equipment maintenance
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
Safety and Housekeeping
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of an internal welding test
